DRESS DRESS CODE
FOR CHILDREN’S DANCE CLASSES:

It’s very important for dance students to dress properly for safety, comfort, so the teachers can see how muscles are working, and for aesthetics.

Girls in ballet must wear hair up in a ballet bun with all hair tied neatly back. Modern and jazz require hair to be secured so it stays out of the face.

Children in ballet are required to wear pink tights or bare legs. NO other tight colors are allowed. Girls may wear pink or flesh colored shoes. Any solid color leotard can be worn and short ballet skirts are okay too. Boys should ask their teacher about dress.

Comfortable clothing such as sweats or shorts and a t-shirt or leotard can be worn in all other classes, and in some cases such as tap and hip hop, street clothes may also be worn.

Shoes must fit properly. Dance shoes that are too big can harm a child's foot, and the instructor will have a hard time seeing if the child is using the foot properly. Please check the fit with your instructor before letting your child wear the shoe.

You are welcome to purchase dancewear at the studio.

CLASS ETIQUETTE:

Please understand that being prompt for class is extremely important. In fact, please try to get your child to class 5 minutes early, so they will be ready to dance ON TIME!

Students need to participate in the entire warm-up so that they are prepared for the harder work in the last part of class and so they don't miss valuable instruction time.

Try to be at all your scheduled classes so that you don’t miss what is being taught.

PLEASE NOTIFY THE TEACHER EARLY IF YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PERFORM WITH YOUR CLASS!

Please do not CHEW GUM in class.
